Vipers SC capped off a dominant season in Ugandan football by clinching the 2025 Stanbic Uganda Cup with a commanding 2-0 victory over rivals KCCA FC on Saturday. The win not only secured the coveted knockout title but also completed a remarkable domestic double for the Venoms, who had already been crowned champions of the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League.
The final, held at a packed stadium, saw Vipers SC assert their authority from the onset, displaying tactical discipline and clinical finishing. Goals in either half ensured that the Kitende-based side lifted the cup for the third time in their history, adding to their growing list of honours.
With Vipers SC already guaranteed a spot in the CAF Champions League by virtue of winning the league, the CAF Confederation Cup slot — traditionally awarded to the Uganda Cup winners — will now go to NEC FC. The Kampala-based club finished second in the Uganda Premier League and will be making their debut in continental competition.
Club officials from Vipers SC hailed the achievement as a testament to the team’s hard work, consistency, and winning mentality throughout the season. Head coach [insert name if known] praised his players for their discipline and hunger, noting that the double was the reward for months of dedication on and off the pitch.
The Uganda Cup final also marked the end of a turbulent season for KCCA FC, who have struggled to maintain their usual standards and will now regroup in preparation for the upcoming league campaign.
For Vipers SC, however, the victory signals the start of celebrations and preparations for a demanding 2025/26 season that will include continental fixtures and the defence of their domestic titles.
