You are truly remarkable,” Turinawe shared on X. “This serves as a valuable lesson for all stepmothers and stepfathers. May the good Lord bless you and your family abundantly. Happy Birthday to your firefighter, Maya.” In response, Nyamutoro expressed her gratitude with two love emojis.
On Sunday, September 29, the State Minister for Minerals held a birthday party for Maya, the 13-year-old daughter of singer Eddy Kenzo and Tracy Nabatanzi. The event radiated unity, with Rema Namakula—Kenzo’s former partner and mother of his other child—attending alongside her husband, Dr. Hamza Ssebunya. Prior to the celebration, the minister shared a heartfelt birthday message for Maya, emphasizing their close relationship and her cherished role as a stepmother.
Reflecting on their special connection since 2020, when Maya was just 9, Nyamutoro wrote: “It feels like only yesterday you were a little girl wanting us to match hairstyles during holidays. Now you’re a teenager with your own style! I never thought I’d find a kindred spirit in a child! I’m forever blessed and grateful to have you as an amazing big sister and my first firefighter.
May your life be as graceful as you are. Happy birthday, Ka Mirembe kange.” Notably, while Eddy Kenzo and Dr. Hamza Ssebunya have been seen together before, it’s uncommon for Kenzo and Rema to appear in public since their well-documented breakup.
This occasion marks the first time both couples have been photographed enjoying each other’s company publicly.
