Three Confirmed Dead, 30 Injured in Buikwe Bus Accident

Buikwe, Uganda – Tragedy struck along the Kisoga–Nyenga road in Buikwe District when a YY Bus Company vehicle, registration number UAV 701C, overturned on Monday, leaving three people dead and 30 others injured.
The accident occurred at Makindu village as the bus, which was reportedly travelling from the Katosi side en route to Mbale, lost control and overturned. The exact number of passengers on board at the time of the crash remains unknown.
According to Hellen Butoto, the Police Spokesperson for the Sezibwa region, the fatalities have been confirmed while the injured were rushed to nearby health facilities for treatment. “Three people have been confirmed dead and 30 others injured,” she said, adding that police have launched investigations into the cause of the crash.
The wreckage was later cleared from the road to restore the flow of traffic. Authorities have urged road users to exercise caution as investigations continue.
