The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) once again demonstrated its firm grip on the Teso Sub-region as thousands of jubilant supporters flooded Amuria and Katakwi districts for a series of electrifying rallies led by Hon. David Calvin Echodu, the NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda.
The twin rallies, characterized by thunderous chants and seas of yellow, showcased not only meticulous organization but also the deep-rooted trust the NRM continues to command among the people of Teso. Working hand in hand with district party leaders and grassroots mobilizers, Echodu rolled out a highly coordinated campaign effort that drew supporters from across the region.
Addressing the cheering crowds, Echodu called on the people of Teso to safeguard the peace and progress ushered in under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s leadership. He reiterated the NRM’s commitment to uplifting livelihoods through investments in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic empowerment programs.
“The NRM’s legacy of stability and transformation must be protected. We have come too far to turn back,” Echodu declared, urging communities to remain united behind the party’s vision.
He placed special emphasis on youth empowerment, encouraging young people to take advantage of government initiatives in entrepreneurship, skills development, and innovation. “The youth are the engine of our future — they must lead the way in building a self-reliant and prosperous Uganda,” he said.
Political observers described the Amuria and Katakwi rallies as a powerful display of confidence in the NRM’s regional leadership. Many interpreted the massive turnout as a signal of the party’s strong grassroots momentum ahead of the 2026 general elections.
As the rallies drew to a close, the atmosphere turned festive, with supporters waving flags and flashing the NRM salute — a vivid reflection of the party’s enduring influence and the unwavering loyalty of the people of Teso.
