Ssemujju Nganda to name artists paid to attack him

Kira Municipality MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has accused General Salim Saleh of orchestrating a smear campaign against him, following their recent public clash.

Speaking on CBS FM on Friday, Ssemujju revealed that he would soon disclose the names of artists and show promoters allegedly paid by Saleh to compose songs attacking him.

Ssemujju claimed that Saleh, the brother of President Museveni, held a meeting with artists in Kololo, where he allegedly promised them payment to create songs aimed at discrediting the MP. “What I am hearing now is that Gen Salim Saleh paid some artists in Kololo, and they promised him that they were going back to compose songs that attack me,” Ssemujju said, suggesting that the songs would soon be released.

The MP also mentioned that the group involved included show promoters, whose identities he would reveal in the near future. He added that he had previously been targeted with death threats, but assured listeners that he had survived those attempts on his life, thanking God for keeping him safe.

The ongoing feud between Ssemujju and Saleh intensified after the MP accused the general of misappropriating funds from the National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS). Ssemujju alleged that Saleh diverted Shs 97 billion to purchase vehicles for Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) coordinators shortly after assuming leadership of the program. In response, Saleh issued a statement denying the allegations and threatened legal action against Ssemujju.

“Stop tarnishing my name, otherwise I will sue you,” Saleh warned, advising Ssemujju to consult the NAADS suppliers database for more accurate information. In a defiant response, Ssemujju welcomed Saleh’s threat of legal action, stating that such a court case could bring even more damaging information to light, including details of Saleh’s past military operations dating back decades.
