Kapelebyong Delegates Endorse Echodu for NRM Vice Chairmanship in a Unique Show of Support

National Resistance Movement (NRM) Eastern Uganda Vice Chairperson aspirant David Calvin Echodu has received a firm endorsement from party delegates in Kapelebyong District, marking another boost to his campaign as momentum builds across the region.

The endorsement came during a meeting that also saw renewed calls for addressing critical local issues, including youth empowerment, security, and the struggling education sector.

Jacqueline, one of the key delegates, urged leaders to prioritize programs that uplift the youth in Kapelebyong, pointing out that the district’s young population remains an untapped resource for economic and social transformation.

“Our youth need opportunities in skills training, entrepreneurship, and leadership. They are the strength of our future, and empowering them means empowering the entire district,” she said.

On matters of security, Jacqueline highlighted persistent challenges affecting local communities, emphasizing the need for a coordinated response to ensure safety and stability. She also lamented the poor state of the education sector in Kapelebyong, calling for urgent investment in infrastructure, teacher welfare, and learning materials.

Echodu, in his address, pledged to be a strong voice for Kapelebyong at the regional level, assuring delegates that their concerns would shape his agenda if elected.

“I believe in inclusive leadership that starts from the grassroots. Issues of youth empowerment, education, and security are not just local priorities—they are regional and national imperatives,” he stated.

The endorsement from Kapelebyong adds to Echodu’s growing support base, following similar backing from delegates in Katakwi and Amuria. Party leaders say this wave of endorsements reflects a desire for dynamic leadership capable of addressing the structural and mobilization challenges facing the NRM in Eastern Uganda.
