SERERE, UGANDA — The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Regional Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda, Hon. David Calvin Echodu, has stepped up mobilisation efforts in Serere District ahead of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s visit to the area.
Echodu, who has been traversing the Teso sub-region under his “New Energy” campaign, was joined by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, in rallying local leaders and supporters to ensure a massive turnout for the President’s arrival.
The two leaders are leading final preparations for the President’s address at Serere District Headquarters, where thousands of NRM supporters are expected to gather to welcome the Head of State.
According to organisers, President Museveni will later proceed to Soroti Sports Ground for the day’s main rally, which marks the climax of his mobilisation tour across the Teso sub-region.
Their joint appearance in Serere has re-energised the NRM base, with party supporters expressing renewed enthusiasm and confidence in the leadership of both Echodu and Speaker Among. Local observers have described their collaboration as a strong demonstration of unity within the ruling party ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The visit is expected to highlight ongoing government achievements in the region, reinforce the party’s grassroots structures, and rally support for President Museveni’s continued leadership.
