Political momentum in Dakabela has taken a dramatic turn as hundreds of residents from across the county publicly declared their unwavering commitment to support Hon. Anyimo Harriet in the 2026 parliamentary elections. The declaration, described by local leaders as a “swearing-in of the people’s will,” marked one of the strongest signs yet of shifting political allegiance in the constituency.

The announcement was made during a community gathering that brought together supporters from India Parish, Agirigiroi, Akisim, Akusi, Alilioi, Amotot, Arapai Olegei, and Arubela. Local representatives emphasized that the people of Dakabela had reached a turning point and were ready to endorse a leader who “embodies hope, integrity, and a genuine commitment to development.”
According to elders at the event, the community felt compelled to speak with one voice after years of stagnation and unmet expectations. “We swear in all due commitment to convey and support Hon. Anyimo Harriet,” said a spokesperson from Arapai Parish. “Our county has waited too long for real progress. Harriet has shown that she understands our needs, and she listens to us.”
Residents cited Harriet’s consistent engagement with communities, her transparency, and her focus on development as the reasons behind the growing wave of support. Youth groups praised her for involving young people in leadership conversations and for highlighting education, sports, and innovation as key pillars of her agenda.

“Other leaders have forgotten that the youth are the backbone of Dakabela,” said a youth coordinator from Akisim. “Harriet gives us space, she empowers us, and she believes in our potential. That’s why we are standing with her.”
In comparison, many locals voiced frustration with the incumbent leadership, arguing that past promises had not translated into visible progress. Community members pointed to challenges in roads, water access, education facilities, and health services as evidence that the constituency needed a new champion.

“Our MP has been in office for years, but the situation on the ground has not changed,” said a women’s leader from Agirigiroi. “We cannot continue recycling leaders who have failed to deliver. This time, Dakabela needs action—not speeches.”
Hon. Anyimo Harriet, who attended the event, thanked the people for their overwhelming confidence in her leadership. She reaffirmed her commitment to transparency, unity, and community-driven development.

“I am humbled by your trust,” she said. “This is not just about winning an election; it is about restoring dignity, opportunity, and fairness for every resident of Dakabela. I pledge to work hand in hand with you to build a county we can all be proud of.”
Analysts say the latest declaration of support signals a strong shift in political dynamics ahead of 2026. With more supporters crossing over to her camp and communities openly pledging allegiance to her leadership, Hon. Harriet is increasingly positioning herself as the frontrunner in the race.
